Featured Project: Animated Drama Series
The CLOSET: Animated Series
A familiar world. A new creative chapter.
Created by Maurice Townes
Debuting September 15, 2027
The CLOSET is entering a new dimension. Created by Maurice Townes, the project that began his filmmaking journey returns in an animated format, opening another chapter in a story that has grown alongside its creator.
For Director Maurice, the decision is both unexpected and deeply personal. Animation has never been his preferred storytelling medium. Rather than allow that preference to close a creative door, he chose to step through it—bringing his first-born project with him. What began as a willingness to explore unfamiliar territory has become a project he is excited to share.
Why Animation?
Throughout its journey from broadcast television to DVD and the web, The CLOSET has continued to evolve. Animation offers Maurice another way to approach its world: through illustrated performances, expressive visual composition, and a different relationship between character, setting, and atmosphere.
The ambition is to discover what this medium can bring to the storytelling while honoring the project that started it all.
What Can Viewers Expect?
The promotional artwork introduces a cinematic, painted visual style, bringing the characters into an expressive animated world. Familiar viewers will encounter a new visual interpretation of The CLOSET, while newcomers will have an opportunity to discover the project through this next creative chapter.
Further details about the storyline, characters, and how the animated edition relates to the live-action webseries will be announced as development progresses.
Two Releases. Two Reasons to Return.
