Currently, the title is "Callysto." It was changed from "The Anomaly" in March of 2023. Also, it has evolved from a motion picture to an episodic. The first season has been written and I'm currently writing EP02 of Season 2. The initial thought of this project started in the Summer of 1996. I was conversing with my college buddy David DeWayne Chase and I was telling him it would be great to have a sci-fi film where the crew of a space ship will be fighting large/huge bugs. David immediately stated, "Giant bugs, I don't think that would work, Maurice." I moved forward with my research and developing the project into a motion picture which I entitled, The Dark Worm Hole. My original concept was...

The Dark Worm Hole: Motion Picture / Film
SCI-FI Physiological Thriller - Rated: R
It’s 2587 the Universal Counsel and their division of Senwo Esahc, a space station development corporation is celebrating the development of their 1000th space station. Captain Jefferson Calloway of the space station development vessel CALLYSTO is responsible for achieving this major milestone for Senwo Esahc. During the festivities Jefferson is forced to share his newly designed space vessel with the persons he admires the least, Admiral Hayes Corbis and her Chief of Security, Madison. Admiral Hayes’ military space vessel is being upgraded with the latest in weaponry. While docked at the fifth planet of the Ghaldurion (Gal-door-rhee-on) Cluster a civil war erupts and The CALLYSTO is thrust into a dark vortex wormhole and emerges upon a section of the universe never seen by humanoid eyes and must face/fight a creature that’s unimaginable.
In 1997 Starship Troopers was released and it was a box office success. Of course I gave David a hard time about it and I still do today. The "giant bugs" thing was a huge success. I continued to move forward with my project/story, btw -- my drama series The CLOSET was not even thought about at this time. I moved forward with reading Robert A. Heinlein's book Starship Troopers and I was very disappointed in the novel. The last two chapters were outstanding. I was disappointed because throughout the entire book it's all this discussion about the war with the bugs, how intelligent the bugs are, etc. etc. etc. ONLY to have the bug war be the last two chapters of the novel.
Anyway...I started developing my characters. I named the Captain of my spaceship, Jefferson Briggs. In later years I changed Briggs to Calloway (my father's middle name) because have the character to say, "Briggs to the bridge." just did not sound as smooth as, "Calloway to the bridge" and Jefferson Calloway has a better ring to it. It was very important to me that Jefferson Calloway must be a Black human male.
